Christmas Season

Days turn cold
as minds become restless,
not much!
Time teaches lessons,
Improper relations suck,
Yes, someone out there enjoys her "self defined' love,
involving a married man who refuses to divorce,
but forced to adore her,
what's the pride?
what's the fruits of such love?
children have turned into "reasons" or weapons
for lasting ties, money is a key,
what if he stops giving you money, do you still love him to death?
what if he tells you that he never loves or loved you,
he connects because you make your emotion
too loud, too big, too dangerous....
so sad that in this world,
women don't feel their own worthiness,
do you need to offer your body for momentary feed?
people differ,
you walk your own path,
take your own medicines,
don't blame others for your pains,
bless you.

Who You Are By Wave Carberry

You are a rare wild orchid, magically lit from within,
But warmed outside by flaming sun of passion.
You are strong, and cling tenaciously to love.
No jungle predator can tear you from your home,
for you protect your own.
but when shrieking storms have blown down
all the stable trunks of home,
and you stand swaying in the shifting wind,
know this, my friend:
You are more than who you think.
No one can define you, or diminish you,
Even at the brink of loss and sorrow,
you fold within yourself
seeds of growth and power.
The light of understanding
These contain the blueprint of your larger family.

Intransigence by Kay Ryan

as a quality
rejects influence
and encourages oddity.
"I will not bemoved."
It says most movingly
to anyone
touched by irony.
For intransigence
lives in a host
and all guests
must pay a cost.
It is worn
and functioned at by mortality.
The flesh erodes
beneath it gradually.
What was fierce
becomes cantankerous
it is cruel for the host
and for the intransigence.

Defining Success

Former Diving Star "Fu Ming Xia and her family"

To smile often and free,
to win approval of admirable people,
and the respect of young children,
To receive honorable mention of professionals,
and to endure the betrayal of foes,
          to promote beauty,
to discover new talents in others,
          to help the confused minds,
          do your best,
never mind what's discouraging out there,
          feel proud of yourself,
Because you have lived a fulfilling life,
which shows that you have succeed.

Love In Nature: Haiku Heights

laugh through eye contacts,
Love grows after holding hands,
Daydream naturally.
Handsome and witty,
The child in him does the trick,
The natural way.
Without stormy risks,
A single thread bounds, amity,
True love's nature.

Today By Violette Whyatt

Christmas Lights (Sheng Dan Cai Den)

Anything could happen,
Tomorrow is uncertain,
Yesterday are gone to Heaven,
Time passes by like summer rain.
Snatch the balls tossed to you,
Have fun with it while you may;
Make the most of today,
Handle things tomorrow may give in your way!

Wu Tian Bu Shang Xue (Five Days No School): October 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, 2012

Five days no school,
Tom's schedule turns dull,
Piano, cello lessons are still on,
Practicing daily make learning profound.
Teachers enjoy a few day's break,
Students relax and feel great.
No need to wake up in the dark,
No worries if neighbor's dogs bark.
The weather remains fairly warm,
For days there's no thunder storm,
Rest, read, run, and play,
Cannot wait to go back to next school day.

I Hear An Army charging Upon The Land By James Joyce (1882-1941)

Thursday Short Story Slam Week 29: Dramas and Freedom

I hear an army charging upon the land,
And the thunder of horses plunging, foam about their knees,
Arrogant, in black armor, behind them stand,
Disdaining the reins, with fluttering whips, the charioteers.
They cry unto the night their battle-name:
I moan in sleep when I hear afar their whirling laughter,
They cleave the gloom of dreams, a blinding flame,
Changing, changing upon the heart as upon an anvil.
They come shaking in triumph their long, green hair,
They come out of the sea and run shouting by the shore,
My heart, have you no wisdom thus to despair?
My love, my love, my love, why have you left me alone?

Spent Talents

Hyde Park Thursday Poets Rally Week 74 (October 4 -October 10)

Deep in the meadow grass I dwell
and watch the geese taxing by,
and hear the swallow' chirping jingling high.
I chew the bitterness of losing a friend,
I inhale and exhale the clover blossom perfume,
While I unwind with thoughts of Victorian sigh,
Pleasant to be alone in isolated site,
as I touch leaves of aspen trees under which I hide.
Thus on this golden autumn morning,
with some close sentiments of mourning,
I've spent my talents five,
Scoping strength to honor those staying dive.
